Hi, my name is Katherine.
I am an Australian artist who transforms nature into captivating art stories. I see myself as a bridge between nature and people, sharing the magic that surrounds us. My passion lies in storytelling, especially stories that capture the beauty of nature. Imagine tiny houses playing hide-and-seek behind trees, bugs and beetles having their own adventures— as if our whole world is one incredible, magical story.
I mostly use dried leaves and twigs collected from the ground for my inspiriting. My wall sculpture is a collaboration of different materials making a unique composition. Every piece tells it’s own magnificent story. It might be as immense as our universe or as tiny as a piece of moss on the ground. Nature and architecture are some of the main themes in my art.
In the past, I used to seek only perfect leaves – flawless, without any defects. However, soon I realized that the true beauty of nature comes with it’s imperfections. Today, I invite you to spot those native Australian leaves and insects, preserved just as nature crafted them. These individual imperfections narrate true honest stories about their lives and experiences. That’s where the real magic and charm unfold: a celebration of the imperfect beauty that nature graciously shares with us.
